Poisoning or food poisoning occurs when we eat a food or food product that contains harmful microorganisms or toxins, usually bacteria. Millions of people suffer health problems caused by food poisoning in many cases are mistaken for other diseases because of the similarity of their symptoms. Each year, thousands of deaths come from food poisoning.Many cases of food poisoning are mistaken for other diseases because of the similarity of their symptoms:-

  • Abdominal cramps
  • Sickness
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Severe headache
  • Fever and chills

There are several types of food poisoning, and two types of microorganisms. Among the classes of intoxication, the most prominent is salmonellosis, being the most common. Salmonella is a bacterium that is part of the normal intestinal flora of many animals such as poultry, pigs and cattle, rodents and pets like dogs, cats, turtles and iguanas. It is very important to drink clean water and organic products.

Foods that are contaminated are chicken, eggs (mayonnaise, ice cream), milk, beef and pork, clams, oysters and sushi (not very common). Salmonella outbreaks occur in the warmer months, and the first symptom is diarrhea, between 8 and 36 hours after consuming the food. Beware when you buy food items. People who consume raw or semi raw most at risk are those who contract it.

Poisoning Staphylococcus Aureus is also a common disease. Many of the contamination can be avoided by knowing the techniques of handling and keeping foods and their byproducts in optimum cold, heat and storage. After salmonella, staphylococcus aureus is the most common cause of poisoning. They are responsible for 25% of all cases of food poisoning. This organism lives in the throat and nose, but over the food (sneezing or coughing) develops the bacteria, which produces an enterotoxin, which causes poisoning (intestinal cells directly attack). This toxin is found mainly in meat, chicken, eggs, tuna, potato, and cream-filled pastries. Symptoms include diarrhea, vomiting, cramps at 2 and 8 hours after eating the food.

A person should drink enough water each day to dilute the concentration of cystine that escapes into the urine and can make bacteria travel to your vital organs. Consider lactobacillus and ensure a healthy meal plan daily.
